The chart below shows an example of how our technology can forecast a market into the future. This is an analysis of T-Bond futures weekly close data as featured in the December issue of Futures Magazine. The first chart shows what the software was forecasting in early January, 2003. Where the green middle line turns to pink is the start of the projection. The second chart starts where the projection began and is updated to the current time frame. You can see how the market tracked quite closely along with the projection, rising into June and then declining into August. The forecast from here calls for a generally rising trend into April of next year followed by a sustained decline thereafter. For more information on this forecast or any others please call 678-776-1343.
The brown outside bands, one lower and one higher, are analogous to considering the projection plus or minus two standard deviations. You will note on the chart that the vertical scale is not price. It is reduced to percentage because the data are detrended or smoothed to extract optimum cyclical behavior. Our method is best used at identifying timing rather than price, though it does typically provide a good estimate of amplitude. We also recommend using technical tools for actual entries and exits and for risk control. We can also provide clients with commentary and suggestions for how to best use the information generated by the graphical analysis. We cover monthly data, right down to 15-minute intraday data. We provide analysis of futures markets, individual stocks, indices and select economic statistics.
